Kanira Shah is a trained and experienced actress with a very versatile look. She trained in Method Acting at the Method Centre in London after attending an evening acting course at the Arts
Educational School. She then spent 9 months in India concentrating on acting and modelling before returning back to London. She has continued to practice her craft through various workshops and experimenting with various Methods.
Kanira spilts her time and work between
Belgium and the UK. She speaks fluent Flemish (Dutch), French, English and conversational Hindi. She has also obtained a Grade 8 Solo Piano certificate from Trinity
College of Music and is a competent dancer.
Her theatre credits include Solange and Madame in "The Maids", Arlene in
“Murder on the Menu”; she helped choreograph the Belgian play “Terug Normaal”
and was in the adaptation of 12th Night for Phizzical Productions as Olivia.
She featured in
the Bollywood movie “Fashion” directed by Madhur Bhandarkar and several short films (Six Degrees, Love Funksion) and a recent TV sketch. Kanira has also featured in various TV
commercials (Mii Make-Up, Batelco, McDonalds, Lynx, 7up, Brylcreem, Mazaa and Yamaha).
She was photographed for
editorials in L’Officiel, Elle, Cosmopolitan, Marie-Claire and Asiana, and
participated in various fashion shows (M.A.C., GC Watches, Ford, Neeta Lulla,
Raffles Design, Retail Jewellery Awards).
She is currently co-writing/producing a series of short comedy sketches with actress Gemma Ramji.
